Not a coding course
No maths, no jargon, no prior knowledge. Every idea is something you experience before it gets a name. You will predict what a model says next, judge whether an answer was invented, sort things the way a classifier does, and watch an advisory system confidently give the wrong answer to a farmer it was never built for.

Every concept starts with you doing the thing, then finding out that is what the machine does too.

The examples are Lagos, Kano, Accra and Nairobi, because the systems being described were not built with any of them in mind.

Why this exists
Most people using AI every day have no model of what it is doing. They trust confident output, never ask who built it, and cannot tell an invented answer from a real one.
That gap is widest exactly where these systems were least designed for the people using them.
Who made this
AI4Africa is a nonprofit working on AI education across the continent. We have reached thousands of learners through workshops, a school curriculum, and physical card games that teach machine learning without a computer.
Grasp is that same work in an app. We built it because the people most affected by these systems are usually the last to be told how they work.
Free, and staying free
No subscription, no adverts, no paid tier. AI4Africa is a nonprofit and Grasp is funded as education rather than as a product.
